I have installed my JB4 a while back; I don't have any issue and very happy with it. The only thing I strongly suggest is to replace your charge pipe. The stock one is plastic and is prone to failure under increased boost.
People will however tell you to get MHD instead. I don't have MHD experience so won't comment. |

I've been running a JB4 on my 2012 135i for almost 100,000km. Replaced charge tube (plastic to stainless) and Dinan exhaust from turbo back.
This car is a daily driver but gets driven like a fun car should. I do fluids and filters on or slightly before recommendations (depending on how hard I've been driving it) My first and only failure was on the water pump at 100k. However, from what I've read. The electric pump on the N54/N55 typically fails between 60k-100k on stock vehicles. Only recommendations would be to ensure plenty of warm up and cool down to prolong pumps and turbo and stainless charge tube before install. |
