It's pretty intuitive. I tried it, but I had issues internal to the cluster that stopped it from working for me.

It's easy (if you already have a cable and INPA/Tool32/etc.), just a bit of guess and check to see where each motor step lines up on the actual cluster. For the speedo you can even adjust the amount that the car exaggerates the speed, but I had issues getting everything to line back up so I just left it stock.

Still don't know why you had so many issues

Today I swapped the OEM wheels out for my apex wheels that came with the car when I purchased it. They have summer tires on them and with the weather as it's been, it's definitely time! The PO had blizzaks on the OEM set, but I don't plan on driving this car outside of sunny days so il probably try and sell em. I also swapped the front brake rotors with a drilled and slotted pair . The rears will be next-have the parts but didn't have the time. Because this car was from the rust belt (now safely in Nevada) I have some surface rust to brush off around the hubs and in random spots under the vehicle. I then plan on completely sealing/coating with rust encapsulator on the bare metal parts that had rust. The rear hubs were the worst with actual rust flakes that brushed off fairly easily..now that it's out of the salt I should be able to remove almost all of it and stop it from ever rusting again .

Photo of the wheels/rotors.

Not the kind of posts I like making. Got these pictures back from Coby Wheel for my alcantara cluster hood. I'm not really the pickiest of people but this just looks lazy and half assed to me. The visual stitching is an absolute mess. For a part that I have to see 99% of the time I'm in my car, I just couldn't accept this. I emailed him once he sent these pics (and tracking number) and explained my concerns. His response was basically that's just how it is. He did offer a refund at least, which I accepted. I have a lot of trouble in this industry getting what I feel I've paid for. I hope this isn't a string of bad experiences doing my interior. So, any suggestions for someone to do this work and not look like they did it in the dark?

Does redline goods make one? They'll do it custom if you send them the hood itself. Id get one in leather for sure.

Redline doesn't offer them on their site, that's why I had gone through Coby Wheel in the first place. I'll have to reach out to Redline. I have a bunch of stuff coming in from them on Friday. Hoping it's better quality. I also found out about this company in the UK called JF Customs on eBay that makes tons of stuff no one else does for our cars. They do the gauge hood in leather or suede (no alcantara). I'm waiting on some suede samples from them to see if I can match it up color wise with the alcantara stuff I have coming in

ShocknAwe that is going to sound insane. Make sure to get some High Def sound samples of that exhaust. It will be music to our ears I'm sure of it. I love you channel by the way keep up the work and content. Thanks for sharing your love for BMW.

Ok guys. Here's a few shots. Its an animal fired up. No rasp, sounds like a damn spitfire up at 6-7k

Based on the MadDad Eurosport Whisper axleback, reconfigured and fit with a true 3.5" midpipe THAT ACTUALLY FITS THE CROSS BRACING.

And he's willing to make more..

bothers my stoopid ocd that it favors the one side of the tunnel, but man I bet it sounds the awesomesauce...

Glad you built that configuration! To me it just looks more natural for the space.

It was literally the only way to shoehorn it in there without running the right side outlet across behind the diffuser or looping pipe under the diff where it would get destroyed.
I can't get the smile off my face. Need to record it somehow.

lolz
I still feel that way about my Borla setup, and yours is *10!

You've got that quick turn to clear the diff, and you got the hanger to fit too- it's really pretty tight, and a nice fit

This is the path I followed to get a decent video with good exhaust- I started with an old gopro, and a bazillion different mount options

First, I got this kit. has all the cables to reach the back bumper via back seat into the trunk, and, very important, it has the adapter to make the external mic work with my gopro. Alas, the included little mic has too much gain and can't handle the exhaust (aka.: crappy mic...)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MSKI46R

So, I got a popular mic for recording exhaust and such
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002YLDZA

Loved the mic, but needed a decent dead cat for it
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DRZJP8I

and, finally I got a short video.
And..., then promptly got sidetracked onto other projects
Truly needs good headphones for the full effect, your laptop ain't gonna get it
