Who's yer daddy!!!?
Took these at Port Newark, it hasn't docked yet at Port Elizabeth at the BMW VPC, probably tomorrow. Here they were unloading the Land Rovers and Volvos. This is also the closest we could get without getting arrested. We did also pass by Port Elizabeth first, and saw a lot of the 2009s sitting on the lot. It was a great sight to see the 2009 3-series with the sports package wheels, i'm sure I saw some 2009 1ers as well.

Tried calling 800#, looks like their slow to update or they haven't began processing yet.
This is getting VERY exciting.

OK i'm befuddled!!
So we caught the ship moored at Port Newark at 3pm, which is where Land Rovers and Volvos, as well as Ferraris and Lambos get dropped off. Then I get notice on Wallenius website that the car was discharged at 4pm. I check again later last night, and the ship is now passing Long Branch, NJ well beyond the Elizabeth port where BMW VPC is. Do the cars get trucked/driven to Port Elizabeth??

As I understood, the VPC was just inland at the NEAT (North East Auto Terminal), which is in Jersey City.
Specifically, I understood it was here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...h&z=13&iwloc=A

Sooo, My car is an ED car. Will it have to go through the process at the VPC? How long before they are likely to get it on a truck to my dealer? Is there ANY chance that I will have it by the 31st?

I have read that you can expect 1-3 business days for customs, then it's a question of how long the VPC has to deal with it. If there are no software campaigns and no damage to deal with, then I'd imagine it's just a matter of loading it onto a car carrier and a couple days time to anywhere in New England or the Mid Atlantic states.

Both Pheller's car and mine's are ED cars too.
How long it takes to process thru the VDC depends on if any damage incurred during shipping or during euro delivery, time to repair said damage, any computer updates or last minute mechanical checks, then clearing customs and then the distance from the VDC to your dealer, and lastly of course how on top of things your CA to let you know the car arrived at the dealer. As of right now the 800# and website still says my car is "in transit" but the shipping website says our vehicles were discharged from the ship, and the Tombarra has already left NJ on its way to the next port.

I'm not sure which wait is more excruciating, waiting for the 800# to reflect my car is at the VDC or the 6mo long wait from when I first ordered the car, to when I took European Delivery.
Anyone call their CA's yet?
