Joying Install Problems !!!

Hi,
I'm in the process of installing a 9" joying single din unit and have come across some issues.
The first was it was in German and took me ages to figure out how to change it to English.
Second, I can't get the steering controls to work. I have found some links and will try things again later but could someone let me know which wires should be connected together on the harness for a BMW E88, is it CAN IN and CAN OUT or IR or KEY.
Third I'm trying to connect an IPOD to the second usb port but the unit doesn't see it, is there something I need to set up ??
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
