I'd imagine that would be a negative cash flow option.

Wright a letter to mayor Bloomberg. Maybe he'll check his couch cushions and send you a check.

Glad they ponied-up and you'll get the car fixed!

I wouldn't be too bothered by any diminished value...it's an older (by modern counts) German "luxury" car, and it just won't be hurt (by a meaningful amount) in the end by a minor accident like this. Make sure to document the accident, and hold on to said documentation (a future owner may like to know the extent of any damages). It might be worth it to you and your car (low mileage, clean), but it wouldn't be worth it to me and mine (super high mileage, bumped a few times, modded).

Unfortunately we have DiBlasio for a while now, worst mayor in quite some time. I'll take Bloomberg any day.

yeah, they paid. I'm picking up the bumper from BMW today and dropping it off at the body shop for paint. Will put it on myself on Sunday to save a few pennies.

The body shop I do business at work did a very good job on the new bumper. I bitched and moaned about how it needed to be PERFECT, and it took them 3 days to get it back to me... still wish I didn't have to do this, but it is what it is.

You obviously wanted it to look just right and there's nothing wrong with that. If it were me I'd probably do the same.

Diminished value on a mass produced car that is 7 years old is pretty tough considering it is a piece that pops on and off. If it was a quarter panel that would be a different story.

With a few before pictures, and a copy of the check you got, no serious buyer will have anything to bitch about.

But you may get buyers like I got for my M Roadster. Three owners in 19 years is too much!!

I don't disagree completely, but it only has 18,000 miles on it and somehow I feel its a unicorn that has a blemish on the Carfax for no good reason.
In any case, what I think is unimportant at this time, since there is nothing that can be done.
