Downpipes

Hey everyone,

Sorry in advance for the huge pictures!

So have been dabbling here and there on the forums but haven't updated my post in a while. So, I ended up throwing the car up on jacks to take off the wheels and clean everything up. Well, I got bored and took off the belly pan and some random heat shield and the next thing you know I was loosing all the bolts for the downpipes! Decided that if the bolts were loose and didn't require me to use 2 cans of WD40 then to go through with it!

For anyone who is thinking about tackling downpipes on their own in the garage, i definitely think that it is easily doable. It took me probably 3 hours to get the downpipes out, then probably 3 or 4 hours to get them in. Hardest part is making sure everything lines up since it is a tight fit.

If anyone has any idea on what brand these downpipes are that would be appreciated.

As for sound, it is LOUD AS ALL HELL! I might find some N55 mids and go completely straight pipe as i don't daily drive the car. Ill try and get a video uploaded.

here is a picture of the car now

Interior and AP fun

I also ended up doing a couple little interior modifications. The first one was the ZHP Shift knob. I went down to BMW and picked one up for 50 bucks and was told it would snap on and these are universal on all BMW's from 82 and up I think? Well didn't know that till i got home and started taking everything apart that the boot comes off with the knob and the plastic white clip wont work with that knob.

So thankful for my 1addict buddies that have come before, I went ahead and did the DIY and pulled the boot up flush with the shift knob and got a zip tie locked on the lever. Extremely pleased with the finish and feel of it. Can't feel the zip tie at all and boot doesn't fall or slide around. Not the greatest pictures:

The second modification was with my accessport. I have a v2 and would like to upgrade to the v3 soon but for now it works. Since I will be running stage 2 I would like a better way of using my access port as a gauge/engine management codes/change maps but as we all know the OBD isn't in the greatest spot. So i took off the side panel and unscrewed the connector.

I got enough slack on it to put in right above the foot vents below the steering wheel and ran it up by the adjustment lever. I used a phone mount that has a magnet on the back that connects to the vent.

Think it all came out great! I am looking into getting a charge pipe here soon but am pretty bummed that synapse reviews have been so bad that you can't get the combos anymore. My buddy has one and I love it so anyone have any input? I was looking at Tial otherwise.

Yellow calipers with the Brembo stencil look great. Are they painted or powdercoated? Would love to do a darker red (along the tinted red shade of Blackline taillights) on my Jet Black car.

I might have to look into what's all involved with repainting/stenciling.

They are vac motorspots everything. They sell the side mount kit with slide option for our cars and they are awesome for my brides. Super easy to mount and just about getting them set to your height.

Cheers,
Antonio

They are powder coated. I think it's worth it since our brakes are great if they get the correct cooling! And stock 6 pot are awesome!

yes, et45 but WITHOUT a spacer in the rear. It is 265/35/18 and rubs with slight roll but will give it a more aggressive one shortly.
