Actually, it's not coming here to compete with anything really.
The purpose of the 1-series is to provide a vehicle in the BMW range that used to be occupied by the 3-series.

Infiniti doesn't have a car in this class anymore.
Back in the day the G20 used to try and compete with the 3-series. Now, the smallest car Infiniti has is the G37 and that's much bigger than the 135i.

Brembo "front" brakes. What about the rears? Will they match? I would imagine they would be Brembos on the rears as well, right? |

It would make sense that the rear brakes were sourced from Brembo as well. According to the press releases, the rears will be two-piston and the fronts 6-piston (as I stated weeks ago - with many naysayers, might I add :tongue.

I'm all but a total go on a euro delivery of the 135i. My friend said that it got a bad review on top gear. but from his description it must have been the 130, right? I can't imagine top gear has tested the 135.
Anyway for the longest time I had a 320i from 1980 and loved the size and the 3 series has gotten (as everyone here knows) progressively bigger. The 135i is the answer to everything I wanted to see from BMW. In a month or so my aunt is going to the official unveiling of the new 1 series in Frankfurt. I'll ask her to snap a few extra for me to share here. She's works with Roundel and the SF chapter magazine. She's my only inside, other than online, of true insider info. So I've called Beverly hills bmw and they, also didn;t know anything about it. So I gave them my info and said to call me when they have any new information. I'm so excited about this car, it's crazy I'm already a fanboy w/o ever driving it! As far as price I'm feeling a 28k starting price, for the 135 and I'm hoping anything under $35k nicely equipped; sports, premium, nav. |
