Finally threw on the ZHP shift knob I've had sitting around for a while.

I may have hit the BMW Aero Side Skirt lottery if all goes well with this seller
That's what I get for searching randomly after months of giving up!! Just when I thought I was done buying parts for a while https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-OEM-08-...3223%7Ciid%3A1

I sourced the bumper kit from onlinebmwshop as I did a lot of price comparisons and found that retailer to have the best price at the time. That is the online parts shop for a BMW dealer out in Katy, TX I believe and they had to order that part from Germany in order to get it to me. Part Number for the kit is 51120442897 and contains everything needed for the job (associated nuts, bolts, washers, the bumper itself, tow hook flap, rear valance cover, as well as those egg carton looking guides that mount to the body of the vehicle itself). The non PDC version of the kit is 51120442896 but has been NLA for a while. This is just the kit version though and you can find all the parts needed individually if need be. If you want the part number for the bumper only, it is 51127892599 for PDC and 51127892597 for the bumper without PDC. I decided to go the PDC route to protect the CF diffuser as that too is NLA and will be impossible to find another unless it was a replica.. it seems like the parts for our cars are going the way of the do-do.

I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be beneficial to do anything to help keep engine bay temperatures lower. And yes I’d like to track it at some point. And if it causes the dp’s to not fit I’ll take it off. No biggie. Also this car isn’t my daily so I’m not worried about corrosion or moisture.

Good luck. I would contact the seller and make sure he has the right and left side. When I was looking for mine, I found a seller listing such as this. When I got in contact with him, he only had the passenger side skirt. I told him he needed to change his ad as it was misleading! I still need to install mine, but want to wait to do it with the F&R bumpers all at one time!

New axle back
Installed the AFE polished axle back this evening and quite enjoy the sound. Slightly droney on the highway but it’s bearable. And I love the tips. Bigger than I expected and they stick out nicely.

So I shared the link with another member on here, and he got them. Mine came in and were completely wrong, and he got a correct set. Then I found another ad, checked into it and he only had one side. After searching for months and some help from here, I found a pair and called them. They verified them, and I bought that instant. I haven't seen them come up again. You would think they would make more as a lot of people would buy them!

I found this posted on an N54 group. There's been a few claimed confirmations from other posters that contacted their dealerships about the recall. I'm told it may be a few weeks before every dealer Nationwide can confirm but this is great for the 07-08 N54 guys. Free index 12s!

What if you already have them? Will they reimburse you for getting them and installing them?

Finally fixed my ambient temperature reading. Burnt-out PCB trace on the instrument cluster yielded an open circuit, and thus, no temperature reading, which caused the DME to throw a SES light. Replaced the instrument cluster with another M3 cluster I found for $120 (Parts Market is a gem, BTW, I also found an M3 brake master cylinder for $60) and it works!
Also found some weird computer-ism going on that I'll have to figure out later, but everything works fine right now.

No...I believe it was Suprgnat
In the thread below. The reason most didn't see it was because it was in the 128i engine thread just a few days ago where us lowly NA guys hang out. https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...2&postcount=27

Paint matched the BMWPerfomance rear calipers/brackets using G2 caliper paint. It took 3+ coats to get here but I think it came out great!
My only reservation is I didn’t paint the spring clips but I think it would look even “ricey-er” if they were painted. And if I ever had to replace them I’d need to paint those ones too. |
