If you buy another BMW and finance/lease with a 3rd party, they'll charge you the fee. Also, they will definately charge you the fee if you don't get another BMW... there is no way out of this.

Another interesting observation is that they give you a break if you have multiple accounts. For example, if you have two BMWs on lease with BMWFS, and you replace one of them at lease end with a non-BMW, they will waive the fee so long as your other BMWFS account is still active.
You didn't specifically mention if you buy your car off lease w/o financing through BMWFS. Fee this way?

You are not charged when you buy your own car off lease, it does not matter if how you pay for it.

Invoice is $40120

Nothing down, 36 month lease should be about $517 before taxes.

Tell your dealer to sharpen his pencil.

With 2500 down (which I would advise against, your payment before taxes is $442.

Based on 12K per year (63% res), 0.00225 MF and MSRP of $43835 and $600 over invoice.

I forgot to add Automatic but I still got screwed.
It was like falling in love, I had to have the car and didn't research well enough.
MSRP was $45,635
Cash Price $42,617
No wonder they were so happy to see me...

Yup. Next time you will be golden though. You have three years to commit lease calculations to your head.

Calculating with the auto...nothing down - $545 plus tax - with $2500 applied to the actual cost of the vehicle - $470 plus tax

Was the $2500 used for fees, security etc.? Or was it a capital cost reduction on the vehicle? If it was the latter, you actually didn't do that bad.

The $2500 was applied to the cost of the vehicle.
I definately won't let this happen again and the dealer just lost a long term customer.
The good news is, I absolutely love the car!
Thanks for the truth, even though my pride is a little dinged.

Looking through the thread and wondering what "money down" is defined as? First, security, taxes, tags, title, etc... or Cap Cost reduction?

Where in MD?

Hey Steve, $600 over invoice seems like a great deal these days. So what dealership in MD did you go too? How long did you have to wait for the car?

Thanks!

325i
Mystic blue/Beige leatherrette
Sport package
Cold weather package
Xenon light
Comfort access
MSRP $35970
Selling price $33500 (about $525 over invoice)
24 month/12K
$408/month+tax with zero down

Looks like no mark-up on MF or acquisition fee.

That wasn't me that was RedBirdRuss. I paid $1200 over (on a $44K 330i). I ordered mine from Passport in Marlow Heights in MD. Let's wait until I drive the thing away before I comment on them but up to now, no games.

one thing i do not get is how bmwusa.com figures your lease on their lease offers. for example 325i deal. if you plug everything in based on the website you get a much higher monthly payment. so how do you figure a good deal?

here's a link to residual values:

around $2000, first month + security deposit + acquisition fee + doc fee + tag, registration, etc. Looks like the dealer made some money on the doc fee, but it's ok since the deal is already better than I expected.

I ordered the same set-up with sat prep and I am paying $517 pm before taxes. My drive off is $1550. Best part is 5 days until the car hits the port, the wait is KILLING me.

I think you've done well! I paid $0 over invoice+MACO, 45 for docs, 825 for acq fee (marked up from 695), but my money factor is .00235, so my payment comes out to 535/mo on a 2 year lease. I'm paying the same tax rate as you. The dealer's going to need to make a little money somewhere, the $600 over in your case, the slightly higher money factor in mine.

bad deal?

I'm not exactly sure what my residual value was or the money factor... but can some please tell me if I got a good deal on this lease!
2006 325i, graphitte, sports and xenon - $34545 msrp
$4000 down payment
$445 monthly payments (with 6% tax already included) for 36 months and 10k/year.

Is that what everyone is paying too?
Thanks a lot.
