The plan is leaving at 8am from meeting point - head to Mt Nebo Rd, than to Mt Glorious rd, and head up to Mt Mee. Continue to up to Maleny and Montville. There is an option going around the Somerset Dam, but the last time I went the twisties are just too twisted and tight, but I will check out through Dayboro, etc. For the people who don't want to get up that early, there is then an option for you to drive up Samford and skip the Mt Glorious/Mt Nebo run as we all know it is a great drive but the traffic might be a bit heavy. Otherwise, if everyone agreed, we might skip it all together and we can have a few more options going through the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We should be at Montville by 11am - this is where I have to leave, but you guys should head back down Steve Irwin Way, and explore the alternative rds and head back to Maleny through an alternate route. For the people who has to go they can head down Glasshouse Mountains Rd/Steve Irwin Way back to the highway. (I won't guarantee there's no traffic ). For the people who are keen - you should head around Somerset Dam through Kilcoy and head back down through Wivenhoe. If there are enough people heading that way, I would definitely suggest heading straight up to Samford and skipping Mt Nebo and Glorious and do it on the way back - that way it will make the trip shorting. I will make sure the Dayboro Samford Drive is good enough , and also exploring around the hinterland to see which is the best run. Remember, schoolies are up, who knows who's on the road, but I would say they would be concentrating on the beach.

Update!!!!!
Okay everyone - I have done some exploring today. There are 3 cameras and 1 laser on route on the more populated areas - usually around the 80km zone, but one on the 100km zone.
Date: 29th November 2009 Starting Time: 8am Meeting Point: Ferny Grove Tavern (keeping the tradition of starting the drive from a Tavern) Forward Route: Ferny Grove to Montiville, through Samford, Dayboro, Mt Mee, Woodford, Peachester, Beerwah We'll leave Ferny Grove at 8:30am the latest and head north to Samford, and Dayboro. There is an optional Mt Pleasant run depending on time, but Dayboro will probably our first break as there is a nice bakery there. We'll head north through Mt Mee where we'll stop by for a shot of our cars with the glasshouse mountains as backdrop and join d'Aguilar Hwy to Woodford. We'll than head towards the renowned Peachester Rd, and head into Beerwah - main reason is to experienced the beautiful tarmac and twisty curve with a good speed limit to play on. We'll than turn back to Steve Irwin Way and head back up to Montiville - you'll have amazing sceneries all the way heading back up the mountain. We'll have another quick stop at Lake Baron as there are plenty of space for our cars for a good photoshoot. I would unfortunately have to leave you by this time (around 11:00 - 11:30 depending on how long we stop). My suggestion would be lunch at Montville at the Poet's Cafe. Depending on what you guys feel like that day, you should head North through Flaxton, Obi Obi, Kenilworth and back round to Maleny. From Maleny, you should take the alternate route back to where we turned for Peachester. Return Route: For those who have got time on their hands - you should head back do d'Aguilar Highway and turn right to head towards Somerset Dam which takes you back out at Mt Nebo/Mt Glorious. You might want to refuel if you are taking this route. If you would like to head home earlier, you can have the up hill run for all those twisties at Dayboro, with an alternative route through Ocean View Rd (instead of Mt Mee Rd). For those who just want to go home - head left back to Peachester Rd again, and enjoy that piece of magic - I did about three runs today and I have least traffic on my last run, which was around 2/2:30pm. That would take you back to Steve Irwin Way, and you can head back to M1. Rules: As usual, you should obeyed all Queensland Road Rules, use your common sense. Some of these roads are more urban, and as they are good runs, there are bikes and other motorists around. And of course no-tailgating. Use your high beam if you need to pass. What to bring: 1. A full tank of fuel and fuel up close to Ferny Grove, there is a BP there! One tank today last me a round trip from home including my trip down. 2. A clean car - photo opportunities are there 3. Your spouse or partner - it is probably one of the rare drives where you can bring your S/O along without bursting your ear drum. Most runs are sweepy curves where you will be doing very well to stay with the speed limit. 4. A CB radio - and spares, so that we can all communicate with each other re traffic condition, port holes (which there weren't any today), blue lights (although everyone should be following the road rules right?). 5. Your right arm - if you have to pull over for any reason, eg, hanging a leak, wave the following car through to avoid what happened last time. 6. Water, Sunscreen, Sunnies, and for those with non-RFT, your mobility kit or spares. 7. Your Camera! Other Notes Comment on the run, and we can change . I haven't checked the Kenilworth Run thoroughly as I was running a bit late, but that's where you can really use our TT6s. PM me for more detail notes regards to the run and my mobile incase you are late or lost getting there. Well have fun!!

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it along for Sunday 29th. I didn't realise until just recently that the day coincided with the Club's Christmas Party.
But will be hoping to join all of the crew for the next one early in the new year.

Still OK at the moment, but my pref is for a shorter drive. Either way, I'll be there but not for the whole morning/afternoon.

The best place to exit in that case is Mt Mee. It takes just over 2hrs to get to Montville if we don't stop. So, for people who want a shorter drive, it would be best to headback at d'aguilar highway. 1:30hrs from starting point to caboolture turnoff back to the highway. And you would experience the Mt Mee drive .

I have test run it last weekend. Ferny Grove to Montville is just over 2 hrs. The other option is to cut the Kenilworth run and head back through somerset, but since while you are up on the sunshine coat hinterland, might as well explore that area as it have some amazing run from Maleny onwards. So the short trips would be exit at d'aguilar after Mt Mee, exit at Beerwah after Peachester, exit after Montville through Maleny without going to Kenilworth.
