The other portion includes a 170 dollar tstat and 730 dollars in labor for the tstat job!
Are labor charges super high in your area? That's almost double what I had mine done for as a same day emergency fix at my indy.

Honestly don't know...
I typically do work on my cars myself...
Certain things on the BM I don't touch in my regards to repair though(mostly because I don't know how to do the job confidently and also because this engine is scary lol)...
I've worked for Toyota for some years so I have a understanding of what's going on here...
Just sucks that I'm going to have to argue my way out of this situation(hopefully I'm successful)...

Well right now I'll leave it as is, but the carbon & resin are having some discoloration issues. So I'm considering 2 options, paint it with some exposed carbon or do a re-layer of carbon. But as for now I want to enjoy this look, I was surprised I like it after installing it on the car.

Given the ridiculous additional charge for the thermostat, I can understand Route 66 saying no.

Good luck on this.

Went for a drive in the canyons this evening because I was sick of sitting at home. Was almost killed by some idiot in a F30 who I think was trying to drift around the corners...on public roads...and was in the process of losing control. Had to decide in a split second whether to stop or punch it a bit and scoot past him. Decided to scoot past and that turned out to be the better idea as I watched him in my rear view cross the double yellows and do an almost 360° spin. Just some real freaking idiots out there.

Also, for the second time I’ve noticed a ticking noise coming from the left side of my car after about 15-20 minutes of moderately hard canyon driving. The first time I noticed it, it was only when turning right, but today it happened for left and right turns. It’s interesting that it takes some time to start making the noise and then it goes away with just normal city driving. The first time it happened I almost thought maybe I had something just get stuck somewhere that was rubbing. I’m going to try and figure out how to upload a video of it and maybe make a thread.

Been eyeing the m performance front bumper...
I have the side skirts...
Would probably keep my rear bumper...
Every time I see it I get so close to buying it...
I worry that it will be discontinued soon!

It's already discontinued and no longer available at most places. I believe I bought the last one from ECS Tuning (without PDC or washers). Get it while you can! It's totally worth it!

Here's my new gauge faces from Venoxy. I love how they came but was disappointed in finding out the bimmian red needles don't "fit". I swapped over the stems from my OEM needles so that they could go on the cluster but they were also too long. So I went and clipped them and reshaped to look similar to the longer ones. I'd love to buy appropriately sized red needles if anyone knows if they're made for our cars.

Looks great. Interested in seeing how the yellow looks installed in your dash.

What's the difference with the bimmian needles? Haven't heard of them before somehow.

I suggest starting in the middle and working off to each side. If its off center at all, it looks awful. Don't be afraid of holding it up against it firmly and sending the self-tapping screws as you go. It's not pretty underneath but it works.

Just finished installing the hood pins.
I'd say pretty decent for it being my first time doing it.

Edit: I'm missing one screw form the driver side latch, unfortunately we're in quarantine/lockdown & every hardware store is closed & I don't have a spare laying around.

M-sport rear bumper installed. Did the diffuser mesh mod to reduce parachuting and to make it look a little better. Very happy with this change!
