how is it possible for the throw to be shorter??? the length is just shorter right?

The knob is shorter, so that's how you get a shorter throw. Longer stick, longer travel. It does not replace a true SSK, never will, but combine a SSK with a stubby knob and it's !!

Just installed the knob today. Other that the fact it's a slightly shorter throw, the best part is that the knob is weighted. When I took off the original knob it seemed to be a flimsy piece of plastic. The weighted m-sport knob snaps back very nicely when shifting out any gear. It's a must have for those who like the look.

So you just pull the knob straight up to get it off? Or do you have to remove the center trim?

I was looking at my center console and the boot will come off without having to take the center console apart.. You just pull on the leather boot.
