Starting the Car w/o key

I was able to start the car without the key!!

However, this only works when the car is already running with the key in the ignition. Press the clutch, turn off the car (press the button), eject your key (ensure the clutch is still depressed), and if you push the button, your car will start without the key! Give it a try!

Yes, I observed the same the other day. I couldn't figure out why this was enabled or under what circumstances you would want to do this.

I tried the same thing. Only I noticed something strange , after u turn off the engine (there is no key in slot right now) everything turns off except the radio and the lights on the headlight selector, everything else is off. Wierd. U can switch off the radio, but only way to turn off the lights of the headlight selector switch is by inserting key again and taking it out. Wierd.

I can see why this is "usefull". You want to leave the AC running or the radio running but u dont want to leave the key in the car (u have people waiting in car)...

But there isn't any point to leave the car running and take the key...whomever is in the car can still go for joy ride.....I 'll just let my friends suffer in the heat. Just crack the window down a bit....

I also don't really see the point to this, but I'll never know it -- -- comfort access

Garage List
so by doing this, were you guys able to drive the car around without the key fob? or does the transmission just keep you in park considering the key fob is not inserted?

I stopped at a store, decided to stop the car and then realized it was closed, so I re started the car, but I had forgotten that I took the key out (and my foot was still on the clutch). With key in hand the car started and I drove home!

Sorry, maybe not a good idea to leave car in Key. But i think its usefull if you want to keep the music running but (engine is off) so they cant drive away....
