e88 roof lock latch not locking

Hello 1addicts,
I have an E88 cabrio, 2007/11 make.

I can open the soft top all the way without an issue.

When i try to close it, it goes all the way to the final position and just when the roof lock latches would turn to complete the locking process, it stucks.
My only option is to manually lock the roof using the emergency soft top release / lock screw, located above the dome lights. The process stays in an incomplete status, i cannot open the baggage compartment and i have a red warning light on the dash depicting the soft top. When i drive faster than 30km / h, i even get a non stop warning beep, just as i would get if my seatbelt is not worn.

I tried disconnecting battery, tried reset all errors using my Foxwell NT510, tried moving the soft top manually all the way back, then all the way forward, absolutely no difference.

I had the following error codes before resetting:

CVM: A69A Speed in convertible-top intermediate position higher than permitted
CVM: A68A Hall sensor, cowl panel closed
CVM: A69B Enable / STOP line V_MOVE
CVM: A688 Fault in coding data
CVM: A689 Hall sensor, roll bar unclamped
CVM: A68D Hall sensor, roll bar set up
CVM: A692 Hall sensor, convertible-top compartment lid locked
CAS: D904 K-CAN line fault

My permanent errors are (will not go away whatever i do):
CVM: A688 Fault in coding data
CVM: A689 Hall sensor, roll bar unclamped
CVM: A68D Hall sensor, roll bar set up
CVM: A692 Hall sensor, convertible-top compartment lid locked

I'm also sharing a youtube video of the whole process.

Has anyone of you faced something similar? Anybody with a suggestion where to start from? I tried going through the sensors 1 by 1, so far no luck, not even sure where my focus should be.

e88 roof latch not locking-and boot not opening

Hi, i have the same problem
except my roof stops working sooner eg. only makes it halfway

so in an open position (roof entire opened manually) with the the rear roof lid closed
1. roof lid lifts up
2. roof comes out of boot
3. roof works until half way (the rear quarter section ie roof part with window supposed the lift up the other way
4. then the roof lid supposed to close and the roof suppose to complete the closing cycle

From here on i have to manually close the roof and lock it with an allen key
basically the same as @idbox12

so problems just like idbox12:
1.now the roof light beeps like the same as a seatbelt warning light 2.beeps continuously at speed above 50km/h
3.boot stuck, cant open boot need to take out back seats and manually open boot
4. warning light on dash

so in a nutshell the same as idbox12, i can live with opeing the roof manually and closing manually, dont use roof much, i cant use car in this state , my daughter in a wheel chair it is a nightmare,
the pong, pong pong sound is irritating

ive started trying to look for a fix or if someone can help and i found idbox12 tead hence , i would like to know if idbox12 has come right and how he got it right.
had so many people look at roof and try to fix.

cool man.

Oh man. I wish I could be more help but maybe someone with more knowledge on this will chime in. I just got a convertible and was able to fix the side panels on my own. I had to do research on my own. 🤔 Do some research on this. Im sure someone has the same issue. Sounds like a sensor issue to me . Sometimes is worth to bite the bullet and take it to the dealership to get it diagnosed? Then you can outsource the repair. Good luck.
