Looks like a 128i with N52 or N51.
That is wild OP! You are living the dream! It looks brand spanking new, the only thing that gives it away are the foggy fog lights…ironic haha On to 500 now!

Amazing! Any advice on how to get there? 117k on my car and not going anywhere any time soon. Would be proud to crack 200 someday.

Lol...yes, keep fixing what breaks. Actually, I've only had five things break on me, starter, water pump, crank position sensor and both door actuators, but lots and lots of preventative maintenance and upgrades, mostly upgrades to the suspension. And religious oil changes a 5,000 miles.
It's an N52, and although those pictures were taken a few months ago, what they don't show are all the stone chips on the bumper and hood. The secret...drive it, and drive it like it's ment to be driven. I don't mean beat on it and do burnouts and things like that, I mean find twisty roads and drive it hard. I also do all the maintenance on it myself which is huge. They are Apex Arc 8s. 17X8.5 with now 245s square and absolutely no rubbing. Last edited by brake-fade; 09-17-2023 at 08:56 PM.. |

I only have about 119,000 on my 2009 e88, n52. So far, it has had new tires three times, one new battery, an alternator, a coil, two tail lights, new brake pads once and three wheel speed sensors. I drove it daily for a few months but have mostly kept it in the garage most days of the week. I plan to keep it until it starts giving me trouble or I tire of it. If I had to replace it it wouldn't be with a BMW unless I bend my current thinking and buy a turbo. I will not get an electric. I want another NA inline 6 but BMW thinks they have better ideas these days.

I got about that out of the OEM runflats on my cars. Or rather, I would have had I not replaced them early because they sucked. The much stickier tires that replaced them, probably not, but I haven't worn out a second set yet. But some of us also don't drive like we are trying to win a race every time we get behind the wheel.
There are tires you can put on these cars that would probably go 80K miles - but you would hate yourself for doing that if you actually like to drive.

Beautifully maintained car. Very encouraging to see that kind of mileage on the original clutch. Says something about the driver. Had mine over 10 years now, upgrading a little every year (probably to the tune of about $20 k over the years) resulting in a fantastic ride on a twisty road. Love the now extinct NA straight six, keeping this one till the fat lady sings.
