Then get out of this thread Seriously, its not the money that is the issue, I saw no visual difference in the muffler and the only thing I could definitely see was different was the resonator....The only way this is similar to a Honda civic forum is when people respond to something and don't know the answer...............

Yeah, the only reason that's there is to quiet the exhaust further...a good enough reason to get rid of it if you're not feeling rich enough for an aftermarket catback.
Would a 135i muffler bolt up? |

Would it sound any different?
If anyone's interested in mine...I'm interested in the BMW Performance one...maybe we could work something out. On a side note, how much different does a stock 135 sound compared to a stock 128?

Oner, did u know how they removed the resonater? Did they completly remove the resonater, then weld the two pipes together, or did they add another pipe in the place of the resonater, and welded all three together? Also how long did the auto shop have your car for

I would say when idleing the sound is not very different but when you step on the pedal, the 128i sounds deeper (in my opinion). the 135i loses a bit of sound because of the turbos. Itīs just my opinion but compared (both stock!) I like the sound of the 128i more!

I have yet to see a 125 in person, but I definetly hope some of you will make it to a 1 meet found in the local CA (specifically around LA/OC areas).
The 125 is an awesome machine, and I don't look at it as someone preferring 300 to 230 HP, rather someone who prefers forced induction to all motor. I've come from an all motor FWD Integra Type-R and drove a friend's MR2. I knew I wanted my next car to be RWD forced induction. That's what sold me on the inline-6 twin-turbo 135. However, now that I've heard of the possibility of a supercharger for the 125... Long story short, it's hard to find sound clips of the 125, and you all should start posting them! YOUTUBE is your friend!

yeah. i'd have to look underneath, but you could remove any resonator.
you could also replace the stock muffler(s) with either strait pipes or performance mufflers (please no grapefruit launchers though). having a muffle shop do this should be pretty easy, and if you dont touch the cats won't throw a cell. |
