dsc lights up
Had a strange one today.
Drive for aout 10 min and the dsc faults completely. Lights come on on the dash and the idrive gives all the messages drive on for 10 min (on the freeway. cant stop.) Stop and go to the vechile status menu in the idrive. Errors are there and cannot set the flat wheel indicator. Switch off the car and all the errors are still there. Drive off and 2 min later all errors reset. Anyone have any ideas. Had the wheel alignment set earlier today.. |

Have you done anything else? Mainly new wheels or tires? Wrong tire sizes will make the DSC come on when it's not supposed to...

There is a fault in dsc / abs / traction control... a major sensor is the SZL.. this is basically a sensor in the steering column that telss all other control units what position the steering wheels is at.
Try this to reset... get in car start car leave in park turn wheel all the way to the left without stopping until the end and pause there 2 seconds turn wheel all the way to right without stopping until the end and pause there for 2 seconds repeat to the left 1 more time return to center position. now without turning car off, go for a short drive. it may be 20 feet it may be 200.... lights should clear. Good Luck p.s. the SZl is out of adjustment due to your wheel alignment. when they set the straight ahead settings, and adjusted the toe, it is now reading x*'s off of center.

Thanks guys
You are all on the money. done the alignment at the local tyre guys. Went back this morning and all the settings where red. Checked the setup from saterday to find they set it up as an E88 not E82. Had it corrected and then when to BM. The SA confirmed it was the steering sensor not centred correctly. In tomorrow for correction. This is new for here as the alignment was always done by the aftermarket guys now dealer only. Just glad I know what is going on. |
