this is what he tried to bring in from america, he budgeted on having it converted and on the road including taxes for 200k. It was on ebay for 100k US.
its a bit over the top and dubius for me, porsche probably did him a favour i think, and it reeks of a scam in some way "You are viewing a 2007 Porsche 997 TURBO 700HP WERKS in Excellent condition. This is one of the most desired Porsche automobiles on the road. On the front you have your recognizable high intensity Xenon headlamps. The distinctive front end with the Porsche marquee will remind other motorists that a classy individual is coming down the road." "The demanded 3.6L Twin Turbo 700HP Werks engine is in sound mechanical condition. These engines have a keen reputation for their durability and explosive horsepower. This vehicle accelerates quickly from a stop and up to highway speeds and beyond. The 997 TURBO 700HP WERKS is truly one of the finest cars on the road. The smooth shifting Manual transmission makes driving effortless. You certainly will not be bored driving this one. . With only 15500 miles , this 997 TURBO 700HP WERKS is barely broken in !!!" |

http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page.php/carno/103326 I know WW pretty well, driving his GR 993RS is what really fueled my search! Really hope I have the have the cash when he's ready to let it go. He does have a pretty amazing collection, 997 Sport Classic, 993 Turbo S, 993 RS, and a 911 2.7RS Replica with a 993 3.6 in it - pretty sweet too. |

Also, I think under the ADR Compliance - think the car has to RHD which automatically rules out that thing, not to mention it's mods. I think if you are looking at getting a car down, look at the UK and look for something a bit rarer so it might be worth a bit more than nothing in a few years time - being an 'gray' import and all. |

I most certainly will.
Talked to one of the guys up here who brought down a MG MGB GT V8 a few year ago from the UK and he said it was a pretty easy affair. Albeit he was living there for a bit and brought the car with him when he came back - a long time ago! He raised an interesting point of the salting on the roads. For you guys looking at newer vehicles that's definitely not an issue. But those of us interested in the older cars, that is a bit of worry! |

Had a quick read on them and apparently only ever available in the Silver Grey and Black. I think Silver Grey would be my colour of choice - used to grace my desktop not too long ago! Is your M3 going out to make way for 1M or is it going to be back to 2 Alpine White Coupes? |

2bob, really hope you're right!
With Alpine on this one though, very much doubt it's be that cheap. Would be pretty sweet if true! |

Hi all,
I've been lurking around on here for a while, enjoying the interesting banter and commentary from all involved. From what I have gathered, you're all passionate and share the same excitement as I do with regards to the launch of the 1M. I was brought to these forums because I was a fan of the 1 coupé when they first launched in 2008. Since then, I have been logging on religiously, checking out what owners have been up to. Recently, I had been fortunate enough to begin employment with the brand that you all love. It's always fun to chat about cars so I have decided to share what I can with you all. The 1M for the AUS market is in its early stages in regards to official specs and pricing of the car, nothing has yet been confirmed. This will likely come towards the end of the year or perhaps even early next year. I will try and keep you all updated. |
