Newbee here.
Thought i would say hello to the forum.
Just curious but, won't adding the Dinan intercooler bring the 1M's HP to (theoretically) over 420HP? Looks like Dinan intercooler add's almost 100HP to a standard 135i...

It comes with a supporting tune from Dinan. The IC alone might be good for 10ish HP but it's more of a mod to keep your power instead of losing it to heat soak that comes with elevated boost levels.

Thanks E90, do you think adding the Stage I or II Dinan sw will add significant boost levels that might cause heat soak?

Well, the 1M already has upgraded cooling over a 135i. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get 385/400 with just a Procede or similar PnP add-on

First we'd need to wait and see if Dinan will release something for the 1M. As Genuine mentioned, the 1M has the upgraded oil and water coolers and a better fan. These all help keep internal temps down but hot air is still being pushed through an intercooler that was meant to work with 335HP (or 340HP depending on the day of the week and which BMW exec is presenting the car). If you just like to accelerate off the line on the street and then cruise after that, an upgraded IC isn't that important. But if your 1M will see numerous track days, you prefer to top end runs on remote roads in Mexico or you just want to be nice to your engine, a better IC will greatly help keep the intake temps in check on a chipped car.

These are a few nice graphs on why you would need a better IC - http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/B...duct_info.html

Hmmm... the only thing I'd maybe do is lowering springs... that's it. Black wheels, no way, I hate that. Engine, well ok, more power never can be bad, but it's actually enough for me (and I'll keep the BMW guarantee). Aftermarket carbon accents, no thanks.

Yes, I suspect they'll fit. Whether they're the right rates, however, is another question entirely.
