It'll be this pic with a comment below it relating to power-to-size ratio. Make sure your SA reserves one for you

Not so much spacers, but a cure for fendergapitis!

My 1M arrived at the dealer yesterday and my CA called to let me know they were waiting for me to arrive before unloading it. The driver was great and had no problems waiting the 20 minutes for me to show up. Once it was off the truck the CA asked me to come in as he had something. He had received the announcement of this poster (he says it's limited production) and he had one delivered overnight to be able to give it to me when I was there to watch it being driven off the truck. Nice touch.
The text at the bottom of the poster reads: "A power-to-size ratio that's both right and all kinds of wrong" Last edited by Pamlico; 09-18-2011 at 02:48 PM.. |

Listen, you didnt buy a show car, you bought a performance car.... If a mod doesnt add more go... there is no point, especially on a lame cosmetic like wheel spacers. Why not just dump it on hydraulics, gut the fenders and drop it to the ground while your at it... I mean, it will look "cooler" to some then right?

"A mod doesn't add more go" - depends on your definition of what a mod is. A member above^^^ mentioned a black grill would look good. Sure, it adds no more go, but certainly has appeal to many owners, if not, BMW wouldn't be selling it. In fact, BMW would't be offering a Performance line as barely anything adds "go" (CF mirrors/spoilers/steering wheels, heck, even floormats, etc.) And BTW, a suspension drop + wider wheebase (e.g. a Moton or any other good aftermarket setup) will add more go (lower center of gravity, wider footprint/wheelbase, improved handling over stock). But yeah, it won't add HP if that's purely what you are looking for, but it will help you put the existing power down better (and thus be faster, so here's your 'go'). You just need to live and let live, if you want to leave your (potential) 1///M unmodded, go right ahead, no one is gonna fault you for it, it's your car. So apply the same principle to others. PS: Just saw your SRT-4 pic gallery with those oversized chrome rims. Enlightlighten me, is that a performance or show car and where's the "more go"?

And if you realy have to ask "wheres all the go" on my SRT... you didnt take a look at the mods list obviously. Quote:
I HATE the way they bundled the damn packages, my biggest gripe with the damn car. Although, I will swap the seats, and all else to shed those pounds so the "fully loaded" isnt that bad as long as I can sell the shit I take out of the M. So again, my point/opinion is valid, and mainly pertaining to AFTERMARKET modifications, if it doesnt add "go" its a waste of money on a performance car. Large - what diameter is Large becasue if these rims you speak of are too Large then every wheel set on any M produced now is too large becasue they are the exact smae diameter - 19in. Check your facts and you wont come off sounding retarded. PS - those BMW wheels weigh in 6-8lbs over what my so called "Large" rims weigh. |
