What's Sports Suspension Worth?

I've been offered a 325i model which has more or less everything I want at the price I want, however, the sports package on the car is a bit complicated.

I'm basically getting a standard 325i, but the dealer is willing to add the 161 wheels that I want and even a sports steering wheel.

But it doesn't come with the sports suspension.

Here in Canada, the sports package is $2800 ... I wonder how much less this should be if I'm not getting the sport suspension feature (or sport seats I think).

Some where in this forum there was a thread stating that the "Sport Seats" alone are worth about $1600!!!!

Sports seats are not comfortable and the curve sides design means
it also serves as an obstacle when you are in and out of the car.
Avoid to get the sports until you are sure you need them

The sports seats are very comfortable, and the curved sides are no hindrance for easy entry/exit. Do try them for your self and make up your own mind.

pay the extra and get the sports seats and sports suspension, the difference in handling alone is worth it. Also I think the standard seats look kind of cheap compared to the sports seats.

If you don't mind missing the sport seats ask your dealer about adding some H&R springs. I was looking at a 330i with premium, no sport and damn near went for it. The deciding factor for me was the seats. My dealar let me have a two day test drive and that is how I made my decision. A trip around the block is not long enough to make a decision that will last for years.

If I am allowed to choose only one option, sport package is the one.

I have read many of posts here and in bimmerfest where a person regretted not getting sports package. It was always on the top of their list. As with swu, if I could only have one option, I would choose the Sports... at least for the 330i.

Actually, I always have to have xenon lights. That is a must for BMWs! So if I were in your shoes and getting a 325i, I would make sure I spend the extra few hundred dollars to get xenon. Then I would definitely get Sports.

I am wondering how he can add the sport steering and the wheels without changing his price. From what I know, even only that cost a lot of dough. See if he's not hiding some headroom on his side. If he is then the REAL difference between what he is offering and the SP might so little that it is not worth saving. Personally, I wanted the seats and the suspension hence got the SP ... and not regretting it a bit. If you like raw feeling of the road and stiffer ride, go for it. As for the seats, they're really nice and not hindrance at all, however it might depend on your ... own physical layout . Try them and see by yourself.

IMO, the Sport Package is the best option deal from BMW.
Suspension alone is worth 1,600USD.
I think the rest is GWP.

2,800 Canadian is about 2,300 USD I believe today.
Still think it's a better deal than if you were to buy it separate, or aftermarket.

Sports suspension is a stand alone option in the UK for £200. The handling is awesome with the sports suspension! Sport seats cost £430.

I do not have sports suspension and the car handles great to me.
I don't have sports seats, and the seats are very comfortable for me.
It is a BMW after all, and things are pretty relative.
Test drive it and you decide.

Same here, I only got the premium package and I've been VERY satisfied.

Main reason I wanted the sport package was because of the
18" wheels and the sport seats. Extra stiff suspension was needed also.
Steering wheel was just a bonus.

I picked sport package over navigation. being performance oriented person
I am, I needed more sportyness in already comfortable and luxury bmw.

ZPP/ZSP/Navi was too much in terms of price for me.

met·a·phor Audio pronunciation of "metaphor" ( P ) (mt-fôr, -fr)
n.

1. A figure of speech in which a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison, as in “a sea of troubles” or “All the world's a stage” (Shakespeare).
