The burbles will be much more audible with the sport button pushed and gear selector in sport in my experience.

I, on the other hand, am addicted to the sound. Hence my 5 page thread on the subject. What can say? I loves me some pops, crackles, and burbles.

Hey swagon, admit it... you like a little pop and crackle yourself. Isn't that why you made that sound clip of you revving your baby? Come on, fess up! Haha

You should hear them.
I wish it was that reasonable for me. My local dealer quoted me double that (literally, 1300-1400). Gotta do some shopping at other BMW shops nearby.

Are you sure that wasn't for PPK2? That is mighty high just for PPK1.

Yeah that's really high. I got the PPK 1 installed on mine for $585 out the door.

You can purchase the PPK sw code from many online vendors like Tischer(GetBMWparts.com) or even ebay. Then with the activation code... have your dealer install it. Normally most dealers will charge you one to two hour's labor rate to do so.

IF you have a (later)N55... the PPK sw is out there, in the domain(interwebs) and some coders will charge very little for the flash tune(~$100). Remote car coding is another option... so there really is no reason to be suffering from the lack of burbles and pops.

I also said in that post that I'd like a bit more burbles like you DCT guys have.

Tbh, it's been months since I drove it but I think I lost a bit of the loud pops when WOT upshifting 2nd and 3rd gear. Sometimes they were really loud, caught one on vid as well.

The cheapest would probably be a used one if you could find a used one for sale. Good luck.

Either used or type out an email with 10-15 different dealerships from around the country, all in blind copy, and request pricing. You can then either get it shipped or show that price to your local dealer who will usually price match as opposed to losing a sale. It works. I'm considering doing this because used PEs are not common unless they are beat to shit haha. Post your results if you do the email method please. I think new at Tischer is about $935 with current march promo code of $50 off.

I just got the PPK on my 135i. It's not much of a difference in power, so you won't feel that much of a difference. However, if you get the car warmed up, put the car in neutral with the sport button on and you rev, you'll definitely hear the pops and burbles on the stock exhaust with the ppk. Other than that I wouldn't know how to tell.

To my knowledge there are V1 and V2 of the PPK correct?

V2 comes with the aux radiator, similar to the 1M where V1 is just a software.

20 HP is noticeable. On my car it was very noticeable b/they also reset my DCT adaptations I believe. It was like having the sport mode & sport button on when it's not.
