As craina stated, the mods are reversible and I understand that it could hurt resale.......but first I would have to actually want to sell it. Outside of that what's the point of keeping such an amazing car completely stock. The coilovers took out that squirrely feeling under squat and made it much more stable in corners. The lighter wheels and grippier tires make it much more nimble and responsive. The exhaust is pure music on its own. The FMIC and ER charge pipes give confidence of not having another factory plastic piece explode whilst on the highway (as they all will eventually no matter how the car is driven..or not driven). The Cobb AP rounds it all out and makes it insanely fun to drive for no other reason that simply to drive. Everything I have done to the car is to make it a more complete and finished car. BMW knows its a parts bin special which is why it was scheduled for only one year and has taken them another 5yrs to make into a full and proper "M" with an S motor. I'd still pick my 1 over the M2 every day of the week.

The Akra exhaust is perfection in my book. Perfect tone and grumble, and the bark just sparks a fire in my heart every time.

I have seen a select few fairly modded 1Ms sell for more than the completely stock ones. Not common but when done right and when the seller is patient, there is always a buyer.

My daily is larger, fits more people, and has more doors.

This I would sell long before I could even consider selling the 1M.

Wow really nice 1M! Are you still on stock intake with the tune? Any idea what power it's putting down now?

I bought my 1M last week. While I'd be happy to leave mine stock, I can see a couple things that could be improved on. Although a fan of the stock wheels, I really like those dishy CCW/BBS style wheel near the start of the thread.

Garage List
Topspeed up in Alpharetta custom dyno tuned my 135. I think they are using Cobbs in a Protune mode to do it now. I also suggest you swap cars with me for a few hours, or years, so you can make sure you like the tune before you go that way..lol. Actually I assume they still have their shop 135.

My mods are listed in my signature in the order that I installed them. I bought my 135 not long after they came out just to mod it. I get the most grief about my rear seat delete or my Japanese wheels. I even had a meth system with a Procede but gave up on that due the bigger traction issues we have in 135s due to tire limitations.

I live in Buckhead and work all over and I've only seen one 1M and it was so long ago that I can't remember what color it was, VO I think.

Especially with the 1M. Each mod makes the car quicker, more agile, more exciting, and best of all that much more grin inducing.

Originally I thought I would need to raise it up maybe 10-12mm for everything to clear, but so far it really doesnt rub much at all. Only thing I get slightly annoyed by is the front tires barely rubbing the inner fender vents just before full lock.

Had the original centercaps machined flat and then powdercoated gloss black. Could see changing the color at some point, but for now it sits well enough. Also got around to putting the Slėk front lip back on after adding two new mounting points near the front outer edges of the air dam. So far its holding up much better than the first go round.

Also picked up a set of Wagner Tuning catless down pipes and switched over to the Cobb AP Stage 2+ Aggressive LT shelf map. Power is still very linear but climbs much faster than pre-catless. Open valves its very race inspired. Loud, barking, and snarling if you shift at just the right spot. Valves closed its oddly even quieter than OE down pipes. Start up is also quieter than OE catted downpipes. Would have never guessed that would be the case, and am happy to have it. Also don't really feel any real power difference between open/closed so can even romp all stealthy....although not near as much fun.
