Coding out airbags

I recently removed my side curtain airbags and seatbelts in my track car. I tried to disable all the airbag features in ProTools but I am still getting an airbag light and a ton of related codes. Has anyone successfully done this and removed the codes? I feel like there is maybe an order I had to do it? Like keep them plugged in, code them then remove them? Or unplug them then code it out?

Any help would be appreciated, here are the codes I' getting now.

MRS [MRS5] | 93C8: Airbag front sensor, left
MRS [MRS5] | 93B2: Safety battery terminal
MRS [MRS5] | 93B0: Head airbag, left
MRS [MRS5] | 93B1: Head airbag, right
MRS [MRS5] | 9416: Retractor tensioner, left
MRS [MRS5] | 93C9: Airbag front sensor, right
MRS [MRS5] | 941A: Belt-force limiter, right
MRS [MRS5] | 9417: Retractor tensioner, right
MRS [MRS5] | 9419: Belt-force limiter, left
MRS [MRS5] | 93D2: Telltale lamp for front passenger airbag deactivation

Unplug the ABG module completely then code the KOMBI:

SFY_ALIVE_ZAEHLER nicht_aktiv
SFY_ID_MONITOR nicht_aktiv

Then reset all errors in all modules. If this doesn't work you may need to plug everything back into the ABG, then code the KOMBI then remove the ABG.

Is the ABG module the one in the center console?

One more error I am hoping you can help with. I THINK its from pulling the headunit or the SoS module in the headliner. Google also seems to think the code could be a speed sensor though.

KOMBI [KOMB87] | A56F: Message incorrect (status emergency request, 0x2C3), KOMBI receiver, CBX-ECALL transmitter

Cool. Two things of note: your DME will have a code on because it can't see the battery disconnect and if you have an auto/DCT it will have a code because it can't see the seat belt buckle. Neither of these have any impact on anything.

You win again! And as I was going to type that you solved all my coding issues.. This one came up. Looks like rear defroster to me but i cant see where i would disable it.

Does this completely disable the airbags? I had similar issues getting rid of my seat airbag codes and i am wondering if this is the fix.

I want to retain steering wheel, passenger front and passenger side airbags with a race seat in the driver side.

Did you remove the FZD (roof control module?) The easiest way I found to stop these errors is to edit your VO and remove anything that has anything to do with stuff you removed, then default code the whole car. Then you'll need to redo any custom coding you've done.

Unplugging the airbag module turns off all the air bags, yes. The SFY parameters in the KOMBI just tell the KOMBI not to look for the airbag module. However, if the airbag module is still installed these do nothing, the KOMBI will see it's there and turn the warnings back on. You need to either make the airbag module itself happy, or completely remove it and tell the KOMBI that it's not there.

You just need to code the airbag module. You can find the options to code around here somewhere.

Is this where it is? I am about 3 years behind you and amg6975 in getting my car to a "track only" state so expect a lot of questions...

Subbed to the thread, just deleted my sunroof and side airbags myself. Will be doing bucket seats and a rollbar soon as well so I'll wait until then to code everything out. Thanks for the info 😎

Yep, in the rear of the center tunnel. Held in with a few nuts (3 i think)

My car is fully stripped down to the wiring harness. It's really great when you don't have a single warning light thanks to ProTool.

Thx! You are now on my list of people to ask questions to. I want to get to no warning lights as well.
