For those who own or ordered a blue(mystic or monaco)E90...

Does a black interior match a blue exterior? I'd love to hear comments about this because I've looked at this color combo for hours and can't decide whether it really matches. Thanks in advance.

I have monaco with burl and black interior... I like it, although silver trim and black interior would look hot.

For colors in general, I don't think blue matches black too well. Of course, it always depends on the context and the shade of blue. In regards to a car, for example, the Monaco matches with black better than the Mystic (IMO). There is just too much contrast between Mystic and black. But like I say, it's only my opinion. Many people will probably disagree with me.
I think you should start off by asking yourself if you want to go sporty or luxurious. Then choose colors accordingly.

I saw Monaco Blue with black interior (and some kind of wood, not sure which color it was though) and thought it looked amazing. I ordered mine Monaco Blue/Black/Aluminum since I wanted a more hi-tech look.

Like most people will say, buy what you think looks best to your eye -- just make sure to get a look at the color combo in different kinds of lights (if possible). Sunny, cloudy, night time, etc. Pick up a copy of the 3-series brochure, too. They have some color examples in there which look much better than what the website can deliver.

Well, I'd like to go luxurious but want a black interior. I really love Mystic but I agree with you, it just won't look good to me with a black int. They acutally have a Monaco Blue and black interior on ebay that looks good but it's hard to tell from photos.

Hehe, no, saw this car on a lot in Denville, NJ... unless you bought it right after me!

Your blue/beige/wood combo would certainly be nice, but that's more of a luxury [read = "older" ] look... I wanted a hi-tech, younger look.

Monaco and black goes pretty well. It's actually very nice. I tried picturing a Mystic and Black and it just does not fit for me. That's why I chose Beige.

But as Nostrum said, do what you want. If you want Mystic, get it. If you want it with a black interior, go for it and more power to you!
Seriously, only you are thinking this much into it. I had the same problem when choosing my colors. I always worried about what my friends and significant other would think. But at the end of the day, they will all say that it is a beautiful car and they will all be envious of you, regardless of the color combination you choose.

I ordered my 330i in Mystic/Beige originally but changed to Mystic/Black at the last moment. I like both interiors, and I agree that beige gives the car a somewhat sharper look, WHEN YOU SEE BOTH INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR AT THE SAME TIME. However, you only see that for a very brief moment - when you open the door. Once inside, pretty much all you see is interior color. Of course, when you are outside of your car, you dont see much of interior, especially if your windows are tinted. So it is pretty much irrelevant what combo you have.

What will always remain true, however, is that black interior is MUCH more practical than beige (think beige carpets !), and will look new much longer. If practicality is not an issue - go with beige - it will look great.

Practicallity is a major issue for me so this is why black int. is a must. Thanks for the responses.

I think black matches any exterior. When I purchase my E90 I will go with mystic Blue/Black leather/aluminum trim. I think blue and black are fine.

If you're under 35 yrs old, you do the industrial look. Which is what you're proposing. If you're older your taste seems to mellow and lean towards warm and rich, which black is not. Aluminum isn't sexy either. Brown, Tan, Terra are all rich and warm + wood trim is where you will wish you went after years of owning the car. IMO.

Black and blue go great together. That's the way I always like to leave people after a disagreement.

Monaco Blue looks great with black, black goes well with all colors.
Best interior with Monaco Blue in my opinion is Terra or Gray
