That video was spot on! I noticed that 8 years later the reviewer comments about the seats being a bit high. I wonder if he knows the manual seats take care of that problem?

Well done.

kind of a generic video. all the praises have been told in other videos, almost verbatim. the small critiques are just as generic.

this car doesn't need any more reviews.....it's already a classic doesn't need the same shit to be regurgitated by different voices!

Its pretty amazing for a 8 year old car and having less than 500 in the UK should receive so much recognition.

That said, I simply love the 1M. So full of character, the kind of je ne sai quai that cannot be copied.

I agree, even though they are saying many of the same things it is 8 years later with many more turbo M cars with air curtains have come and gone. BMW has built two M2 variants etc. Yet this little bastard car still gives people a really enjoyable ride and the je ne sais quois after two automotive lifetimes. Part of greatness is determined by whether it passes the test of time when things become clearer and the buzz has faded. It's like a couple being married 50 years and still being completely in love and sharing a passionate kiss. No one say. C'mon that's they same crap from when you met at 18!!! Cmon do something new!

I like the concept (great road + great car), 4K quality, and I think Dan is better than most....

These car videos are extremely satisfying to watch, JMO.
Even more so, when a car that I love is being filmed from angles that I never see whilst driving. The more vids like this, the better, from my point of view.

I don't see people doing reviews of the M2 in 8 years -- it says a lot that retrospective reviews of the 1M are still being done. BMW (and we) stumbled onto something special that occupies a unique place in time and history.

Completely disagree, the relevance of a retro car review speaks volumes of the attributes of a car 8 years on!

How many reviews do you see where the reviewer declares the car they’re testing the epitome of driving quality, then when the new model comes out, manages to find the new one so much better and proceeds to point out all the flaws in the previous model?

That’s progress sir, yes things tend to get better, Corollas are much safer than they were 20 years ago, but 20 years ago they were the safest cars on earth. (You know what I mean)

So when an 8 yo car is reviewed in context with the current crop of cars all with the benefit of another 8 years of research and development behind them to make them better, it’s a true testament to what this car really did bring to the market.

I for one am extremely grateful for these insights since I don’t get to spend a day with every new car that hits the market to compare.

Great review!

Agree with all your comments.

It is actually astounding that this 8 year old car is still getting new reviews! I mean it's actually unheard of honestly.

BMW really made something special and we are lucky enough to be part of that 😎
