I got a letter from BMW where they want me to trade in my car and get $5k off on a 230i. The lease was like 4k down and 379 a month.

Nope

When I saw what my 2012 135i convertible was worth I decided to just keep it.
At 62k miles it still runs great and its worth way more than that to me.

good luck getting much from a BMW dealer initially was offered 10k, but was able to get it to 13.5k.

2012 135i DCT with 49k miles clean, "Returned to Stock". Still have not traded it, just seeing what I could get.

I don't care cause I know what it's worth to me. I was a bit apprehensive buying it when looking for a fun daily driver since my other car checks so many fun factors.

But even stock, I was thoroughly impressed. Now that I've put a wrench on it along with a little blood (damn headers) .......I'm very impressed with it and enjoy driving it as much as my other car!

Don't get me wrong, I love my 1er, but it's saddled with tons of needless electronics. You can code them out, but they are still there just waiting to fail. Realistically our cars should weigh about 150 lb less, except for all the sensors and nannies.

If any of you are smart, you'll take care of the car. Even one with damage is worth fixing regardless of its value. The reasons are simple, these car are well made, fun to drive, reasonably easy to repair, and not loaded down with stupid electronics. Except maybe for the Two, which is debatable, there isn't anything on the market that compares with the car's goodness and virtues!
Gotta agree with you HJ (oops I should probably say Happy Jose). Manual trans, rust free, well maintained will always be in demand. Nice 2002's [over $20K] and E30's are pulling in over $10K now.

Only matters if you sell it.

Never selling mine.

Priceless.
