Ceramic Tint > windshield

Have you tinted your windshield for heat reduction or brightness? What % did you go with? I am thinking 35% - but wanted some feedback before paying 180$ to have it done. I live in a HOT state, and want to reduce interior temps in summer. I do use a sun shade almost every day as well

Pretty effective for heat and brightness at about 30% VLT. A >90% heat reduction film will treat you well.

Nice to cut the glare from modern headlights too.

High quality sunshade is a must for times parked outside.

I did go with the 35% 3M ceramic tint. Lifetime warranty, and they did a good job. Ready for summer . . . was pricey, but maybe it will help save my dash in long run

I did the same last year and having a black car in SoCal I can say it (ceramic all around too) made a big difference. Ac doesn’t need to work as hard and I don’t really feel heat on my skin. Overall happy with it especially in the triple digit heat days.

We can’t even tint side windows here in RI without a medical exemption. The front windshield isn’t allowed even with the medical exemption. I see a ton of cars with 20% windshields but honestly that’s too much for me at night. I did 35% all around and nothing on the windshield.

What I’m interested in is if there’s some kind of 90% tint that is invisible to the eye but cuts down the glare of LED headlights and would help someone like me with an astigmatism.

Llumar AIR or something like it. . If I lived where you do I'd go with a clear UV rejecting film.

That’s great for heat etc, I wonder if it would help with the blinding lights or if they only way to do that is literally block more light.

Not sure. When I asked my tint guy years ago his answer was as you suspect.

As someone too lazy to put up sunshades but sees the value of them everytime I get in my car in August, this is something I may have to start saving for lol.
