I drove 235 km/h (146 mph) on the German autobahn, that was without the chip.. With the chip (198hp) it should do at least 245 km/h (152 mph) on the tacho.

120 - very smooth and not as much wind noise as I expected. The car feels more solid the faster and harder you push it.

Which chip did you get? Easy to fit?

Got the chip at wetterauer, the company fits it so it's really easy. Earlier on this forum there was a topic about a test of 4 chiptuned 320d's in AutoBild, there is more info about it.
I can really recommend it, you can feel a huge difference! I love it!

You have to drive the A95 down to Garmisch Partenkirchen. It has only two lanes but the street is not very full at all. So, you can enjoy the whole potential of the car

I've hit the limiter because I was going downhill, with the gas/accelerator pedal on the floor... but couldn't accelerate any more... I was doing approximately 259 km/h(needle was just below the 260 km/h mark).

Cool

105 mph briefly...about 95-100 every night but only about 10 mile freeway stretch, just right before my exit. It's my daily dose of e90 heaven...

about 90MPH.

Any idiot can drive fast in a straight line. You can drive fast in a ford taurus.

It takes expertise to drive quickly through curves!

The real question isn't how fast you went, but how the car felt when you were doing it.

People don't understand why I routinely drive 80+ on the way to work everyday. There are so many road hazards including people on cell phones and wandering deer.

What they don't get is, driving 80 in a BMW is like driving 55 in a Buick Century, which drives and feels like a couch on wheels.

So how stable or unstable was it at high speeds?

LEGAL DISCLAIMER: by participating on this Board and/or this thread, it is agreed by all that there is no collusion or even encouragement by participants for anybody to exceed the posted speed limits. All speeding is completely done on the indivudal's own volition without encouragement from any of us. It is assumed that anybody that chooses to speed does so under their own volition and believes they are fully capable of handling it, considering their age, experience, and driving conditions. Any person who attempts illegal high speed driving and has an accident acknowledges that this board was not an influencing factor on their decision to do so. Thank you and have a nice day.

250 km/h last weekend pulling away from a pursuing Audi A8, car was pretty much fully loaded... 3 adults, trunk full of luggage. I wonder how much faster it will go (I suspect limiter was very close...), couldn't find out as I came up on traffic...

Atty - the legal disclaimer cracks me up!

My car felt so smooth at 100+. It is soooooo easy to exceed the speed limit in this car. I find that I constantly have to keep my speed under control - I had no idea buying a new car would do this to me.

It was smooth and stable. 210km/hr felt like 150km/hr in my S70 which I thought was a good highway car at the time.

What I thought was amazing was how quickly my 325 got up there.
