If you haven't welded them, I would implore you to consider it as I have a hunch that you have compromised the structure of the back of the car more than you may think by only re-attaching with fender sealer. The unibody in the back half of the car is reliant on the sheet metal in the same way that a layer of plywood is actually needed to provide sheer strength to a studded wall.
