Convertible top restorer recommendations?
The blank canvas on my 2013 128i convertible top is faded. I tried Protex this past summer, but it did not last long. Hoping some here might have a recommendation for what I can do to get the black color back in there and any kind of protectant to use with it. Thanks!

I can't speak for a black top, but I used this product on my wife's Cutlass convertible (white top), and I was impressed with the results.
I have no problem getting it in Canada...not sure if you have it Stateside... https://www.autoglym.com/products/sp...t-complete-kit |

I have used the '303' cleaner and fabric protectant products since I bought my E88 five years ago and have been well satisfied with them, but have not really tried anything else.

Thanks, I may try this. The car came to me with some sort of weird stain in the top. I'm looking to get rid of the stain and this may help. Otherwise, the top is perfect.

Convertible top care...
Here is the 303 fabric care product. This is what I'll use for my E88's top. I have used 303 Aerospace Protectant products since 2008 on vinyl tops and plastic car trim, interior and exterior...it's great stuff.

I use the meguliars convertible top cleaner (has our picture of our car on their cover, same color as mine with taupe top), with the 303 fabric protector

I used Renovo fabric soft top cleaner, then reviver, followed by their ultra proofer on a black Volvo C70 convertible top with pretty good results. It too had a weird stain that I was trying to address and this stuff did the trick. I can't attest to its long-term viability, as I ended up replacing the top about 2 years later due to a different problem.

I think all the protectants are short lived products meaning they have to be reapplied annually for effectiveness. To expect otherwise may not be productive.

Be very careful how you care for your top and What you put on it. Carefully vacuuming the top and brushing it with a soft boar or horse hair brush is ideal. I generally use either the BMW aqueous sealer or the ragtop aerosol, which makes it a bit more of a mess. If you haven’t done this regularly the top may will be damage from UV, moisture, and dirt, and have to be replaced soon.

I’ve used raggtopp cleaner and protectant a few times so I can vouch for its ease of use. My cars garaged so in 8 years, I’ve only felt the need to do it 2x.

What I thought was a weird stain is really just fold marks. Triangle-shaped impressions between the middle bows. I noted them on another E88 this weekend.
