Ahh... Ok. How about the Torque app on Android? Some guys like it. I'm on apple iPhone so haven't tried it.

Hmm, that's interesting... Oil temp isn't listed as one of the gauges at the Ultragauge site.

Well... I think I'll try with Carly then If it's no working (but Suprgnat confirmed it works, so no reason to doubt about it) I'll buy a used instrument cluster from 130i/135i |

Side note: If you get a used 135i cluster and find someone with Tool32 (to change the VIN in the cluster), and code it, the oil temp gauge in the cluster will function normally.

I have a 09 US 128i and that definitely has an oil temp gauge since it shows up both on INPA and this cheap digital gauge I got on amazon called the AUTOOL X60

Interesting. I imagine I could also get a readout using Carly and my phone. But this is a cheap solution if the gauge can find the oil temp on a 128

Anyone familiar with the P3 gauge set up? I know you can get these prepackaged in the vent and plug into the OBD2 port under the dash. Their site isn't really helpful, and it seems it is more designed for 135i apps as it has boost gauge, intake air temp, etc. Would be interesting if it displays oil temp, water temp, maybe oil pressure? I really don't need to know voltage. I called to get more info and after a substantial wait, left a message (which of course has not been returned).

I was using carly the other day to clear my CEL and noticed real time readings and saw engine oil temp was an available reading!
So yes, as others have said, Carly app does the job. Not too ergonomic as a dash or a vent display though...
