BMW 0W40 LL-01 is back?

So, BMW 0W40 LL-01 is back? It never left?

Made in Germany, by Shell? Castrol?

I think Shell still has the contract, so most likely them.

Would be interesting as Shell does not make a 0W40 LL-01.

Using the Castrol European Formula 0-40 LL-01 made in Germany. Looks pretty much the same.

Been using exactly this on my turbo Bimmers forever. Always in stock at Walmart.

Maybe they do just for BMW? I imagine Pennzoil's Euro 0W-40 could meet the requirement, since it meets MB and Porsche specs.

Over here in Australia it is made by Shell Hong Kong. So does our 205L drum for service use, which is delivered by Shell's distributor in a Shell drum.

You will be able to tell by the smell. Shell GTL oil has a distinctive smell.

US customers must be getting something else?
