n51 performance expectations

Hello all, I just wanted to create this thread to get some more opinions on what I can expect to obtain from the n51 motor in my 128i 6SMT. I am looking to see roughly what to expect in WHP. My mods list is below and any info would be appreciated!

AFE intake scoops
Charcoal filter delete
K&N drop in filter
turners silicone smoothed intake boot
stage 3 dual disa manifold
turners stage 2 ecu map
AA headers deleting primary and secondary cats
muffler delete

If you really want to know, why not just book some dyno time and find out? Speculation is not going to tell you anything useful.

My car is a slightly differently equipped N51 (238 whp /218 ftlb), however I would estimate at about 235 whp and 215 ftlbs.

Keep in mind your results may vary a bit based on a variety of factors.

Run a better tune, and please, PLEASE run a muffler.

Transmission, car condition, octane and weather can all effect the car's output. Do a baseline and then do a final dyno after the mods.

Do some research on the N51 please. It already has the upgraded intake manifold.

Curious about the "better" tune? Better in terms of output, or reliability?
Turner's is supposedly just the AA tune from what I've read, which is pretty well accepted. Which company has a better tune? Are there dyno plots demonstrating it? (Not trying to be a dick here, just curious)

Disclosure: I have the AA tune and headers on my N51, I've had pretty good luck with it after some back and forth and revisions from AA.

BPC is one - Specifically because they don't have to dial back the tune due to hitting the torque limits, and because you also have options to upgrade to MILVs if you wanted to.

I dont plan on running a muffler as I enjoy the car being loud to be honest. I dont experience a drone like most users on here claim at 2k-3k rpms or at least not one to write home about. I am well aware the N51 comes with the dual disa manifold stock I was just adding it because some are not aware. Sensing some old grumpy men in this forum for sure..

No, you're sensing some adults who've heard the same questions many, many times before, and who prefer empirical evidence to idle speculation.

We've just heard the same questions over and over again, especially regarding upgrading the intake manifold on the N51 which isn't necessary. You'll remember the stuff you figured out on your own or through experience working on the car. There is soooo much information on these engines at this point and a search can reveal all.
