Buying parts from wreckers

Hi there, I did a search but it came up with nothing.

I called the local BMW Aus stealership today checking the price of a folding leather headrest and they told me an eye-watering $550 for 1!!

So I started to look at wreckers and trying to source one from there (even buying new from US/Europe they're $200 + postage each)

Has anyone had any experience buying from wreckers and how much do things usually cost? Thanks!

Give Peninsula BM a call. They can get anything. I bought a rare 265 Getrag 5 speed and M30 bell housing today.

Another stealership in my experiences but those parts you bought are rare.

Still calling around for my headrest...A1 prestige only had them in black

Anyway, just wondering, can you bargain with prices or it's take it or leave it?

Turns out A1 do have some! (some bozo staffer said they only had black)
They've got two so $80 each posted to Brissy. Sound about right?

I've negotiated discounts from BMW on things like the strut braces and BMW performance steering wheels. Particularly if it is sitting in a warehouse in AUS.

Well it sounds a lot sweeter than $550 each.....
