Thread for collecting & sharing UOA results.

There are enough variables to make things crazy, so some context will be needed- ya'll be sure to post details about mileage on engine as well as the oil sample, about tuning and anything else that seems relevant...

I'll start-
This report is from an 09 135 (e82/n54)
Mileage on car when sample taken- 67,582 miles
Mileage on sample- 5,382
Type of oil- Castrol 0w40 Synthetic BMW LL01
Tune- MHD s1+, but otherwise more or less stock-ish
Drive style- daily driver with a bad attitude

Gonna do another at 108k (I just changed my oil - JUST hit 100k).

This report is from an 08 128i (e82/n52)
Mileage on car when sample taken- 85,000
Mileage on sample- 5,000 (bought from Chevy dealer and they did the oil change @ 79.9k, who knows what they put in)
Type of oil- ???? hopefully LL-01 (I used Castrol LL01 now)
Tune- bone stock motor
Drive style- daily driver with a bad attitude, good mix of city/hwy


Hopefully this'll give everyone a baseline to look at for these specific engines in our specific driving habits.

Based on your flashpoint, I would say you have some fuel dilution going on. Doesn't seem to really be hurting anything though. You could probably go to a 7,000 mile OCI without issue.

Here's to an old thread revival.

Did a UOA on my 2009 135i, N54. Car has the following engine mods:
MHD stage 2+
VRSF catless DP
VRSF chargepipe
VRSF intakes
ATM FMIC
Oil: Mobil 1 0w40
Relevant info: Only ran the oil 1500 miles. Car was tracked pretty hard. Cracked the valve cover in the process so it shat oil for a few days. I was happy with the comments on my UOA. All I can say is that proper warm up times are so important. No WOT until car was warmed up, and no long idle warmups either. Drove the car keeping RPM under 2.5k until until operating temp was reached. Once that happens, I drive it aggressively.
