135i has DOUBLE pipe...(+some other pics and riding comment)
...or I missed something and you found that already?
'Cos I didn't know that, before I and my dad puted our 135i on the crane today, couple of hours after delivery:biggrin: But first some other pics, there was no time to take pictures outside, it went in right after short ride, 'cos cops in our country are eager to take a spot on you, and we have some gizmos to install:headbang: SO,...; Beautiful lights...: License plate, a bit blue: Some other pics: Tadaaaa:  The valve: Where double pipe joins in to 1: Rear underpinnings: Another joining: High in the sky:thumbup: Two catalytic converters: Front underpinnings You can cleraly see the route of exhaust So, how does it go? Well, let me tell you, I haven't yet driven an EVO or 335 or some kind of really fast car, I was once passenger in EVO8. But this thing goes. You have to know, we were only ably to push it to around 3500 rpm, beacuse of break in period. But, it just flys. 5th gear, uphill, and passing a car? bah, just tap the gas a bit. It is so revy, so responsible. Down shifts with bliping are just one big smile. The sound gets ''fatter'' at around 2500rpm.:roundel: It really thunders if it is slowly moving, revving a bit and you are hearing it from outside. Steering? Just think where you want to go, and this car will turn in by his self. Put a pedal down in the middle of corner and you will feel how the rear end helps to turn in. Floor it in the middle of 180-turn in 2nd gear and you will found out that it is tail happy.(Mind you, we we're not pushing it hard at all) Suspension? Our previous car was Audi A3 Sportback with S-Line package and susp. That thing was rock solid, you could feel every little stone on the asphalt, but 135i is softer, BUT it drives better. This susp is so worked out, I still can't believe it. It is comfortable and hard at the same time. They must have spent a lot of time on it.:headbang::headbang: Suma sumarum: go out, bang all you saving pigs, beg your mamma for money, sell one kidney(you got 2, right), work over-time, sell your kids. This car is THAT good. |

It was 2.0 TDI, so there si no comparison:roundel:
About the gearbox: it is hard to get it in 2nd gear, because it is new, after couple of thousend km, it will be fine, but other wise, it is phenomenal. Short trows, really accurate, and goes from gear to gear very easily(except for 2nd, as said). Gas mileage? We did around 120km, a bit of town drive, but mostly country road, no floring, to around 3500rpm, the average consumption on BC showed 9.4 l/100km. |

Thanks for the review!! Looks like aftermarket exhausts should be pretty easy to manufacture.

Thanks for the post excellent.
Interesting how the exhaust goes from 2 to 1 and back to 2 pipes at the end.

First pic I've seen of the valve! I pointed out a few times that the vibration damper was not the butterfly valve. I didn't think this car had one. I guess I was wrong!! So.. golf tee mod away!!
Thanks for the pictures an impressions. |

Defintiely, it looks like there's room for 2 pipes all the way back, but the truck floor/battery compartment would get in the way of a 2nd muffler. It will be interesting to see what gets done in that modification area.

When it goes to one pipe, that sucker must be 3" piping. |

There's a vacuum line that goes into that valve. It serves to close the butterfly valve in the left tailpipe. It closes are start, supposedly to quiet things, and increase back-pressure at start for lower emissions.
Undo the vacuum line and stick a golf tee in it, and you get louder growl at start. |
