v1k0d3n: is the shop open on Sat? FWIW, I may opt for a slightly lighter shade than yours, in my state front tints are not allowed, never stopped me from doing it, but just don't want it to be very obvious. And question #2: how long should I not take windows down, have a long 700 mile drive with likely a lot of tolls, etc., just don't want to make a booboo accidentally after hours of driving

How is the coverage over the dot matrix and in the corners?
Any issue with the glass being scratched or the rubber trim being sliced?[/QUOTE] No scratches at all. Looks good. Extends over the dot matrix to the black border. |

Does anyone know of the 3M does a better job letting the signal through? I might go with a really light tint if the brownish tinge is very visible.

Since there still seems to be some concern around CA issues, I may hold off on the tint till spring and go with a local installer in ATL. I'm still doing the clear bra at Steve's.

I have a feeling that people think they're getting ceramic, when they really aren't. Unfortunately the tint/PPF is a very shady business. You really need to verify the product, the warranty and certifications of the staff on hand (which directly impact warranty). |

My lease expires shortly so I'm not going to take the tint off, but if I had the car long term I would definitely get the tint removed. My new 1M has no issues with CA and I'm not going to do any tint. BMW recommends against tint for a reason. Be warned. I would certainly not do it again. |

I have no first hand experience with ceramic tints and CA. I opted not to do the ceramic tint when there was talk on the 135 forum that it was interfering with peoples CA. I confirmed with a few tint guys and just didnt do it. |

Ive been doing some reading and it seems some people have issues with their new tint (especially when rolling down their windows the first time). This makes me want to have it done locally so I can go back to the installer. Being 2500+ miles away from the Carolinas I think I will have to pass on tint install at PCD.
I would think most people would opt to pay a little more and have it done locally as well. My biggest thing was using someone reputable. |
