Anyone using the Foxwell NT710, or alternative scanner?
I have a Foxwell NT510 (not the Elite) that's many years old at this point, that I'm replacing due to a damaged pin on the OBD2 connector.
Never had a complaint with it other than it's a bit slow. Have performed all maintenance on the 128i without issue, and the generic OBD2 mode is able to read codes and monitor data on my barely-OBD2 Ford Truck. It looks like Foxwell's latest product is the NT710. Is anyone using this, and is it worth the price over the NT510 elite or NT530? Or any alternative product recommendations? Pic for no good reason at all.

I use a Thinktool Pros scan tool. I bought mine due to Ivan of Pine Hollow Diagnostics. Ivan is an absolute genius with electrical/computer diagnostics for cars. He works as a full time mechanic out of his house. Many people and repair shops have sent cars to him to fix when they reach their wits end. So any tool he says is good and he uses is good enough for me.
This video is the most recent he put out on various scanners: |

I didn't try the foxwell, but I have the Ancel BM700 and it has been working well for basic troubleshooting. In the end though, I prefer using INPA or ISTA on my laptop as they have much more functionnality and can give you more information on status of the various modules when you try to pinpoint issues.

A little update since I did get the NT710.
Long story short, it's basically an upgraded, somewhat easier to use, but also much bulkier replacement for the NT510. Like the NT510, it plays well with the 1 series and my Ford's very early OBD2 system (generic scan). It also works with my '23 Mini. I never had a reason to try the NT510 on the Mini. On the 1 Series, initialization with the NT710 is pretty slow, but scanning all modules is noticeably faster than the 510. Service functions are easier to access and interpret, but I have yet to identify a function that I couldn't do with the NT510. Since it's tablet-based and needs to be recharged, I'd consider this more of a "home shop tool" than something you'd carry around in the trunk. I may see if I can repair the NT510 to bring with me on longer trips in either of my older cars...
