Great product description ECS: "Individualize your 1 series by ditching the boring stock bumper in favor of this sporty and aggressive BMW Performance bumper."

There are three basic styles of front bumper. 138, 135 & 1M. Then there's some subtle differences for pre vs post LCI which was for the 2011-2012 model year change. Here are pics in order - 128 - 135 - 1M.

These aero bumpers have been listed on the ecs site for as long as I can remember.
What someone should be looking at is the part number since this bumper here does not have the holes for the headlight washers. If I remember correctly this bumper cost me less than 500 straight from BMW with the headlight washer holes EDIT: This is also just the bumper. The correct grills and ducting still need to be sourced for your respective car. I can provide the list of parts that I ended up using for anyone that's interested

The above image shows all the part numbers and quantities that I ended up purchasing when doing this myself. This was for a 2011 135i with pop out headlight washers A few things to note, Items 17, 21, 22, 29, 30, & 32 turned out to not be necessary for my car. Though I think that that 29 may be needed for 128i's. The part number for the sideskirts is also here, but I doubt you'll find them and item 23 is for the airduct kit, for the oil cooler and brakes, but does not include the blank piece that goes on the drivers side. I don't have that part listed on here but you can find it on realOEM

At the bottom of this page is basically a list of the extra parts you will need... Someone correct me if I'm wrong or if anything extra is needed... |

Is a new belly pan needed as I do know the M Sport one is different than the Stock for the base front bumper to M Sport conversion and wanted to know if the same applied to the Aero Performance bumper

This is due to the engine undertray cover is different from standard to M Sport Bumper, so they added this extra part in case the car doesn't have the M Sport you can easily get the Performance bumper installed without having to buy the new engine undertray which is more expensive. In my case I bought an used one that brought that belly pan, but I had already bought the M Sport engine undertray since mine was broken, so I didn't needed to use it. |

Should work! The M-Sport cars don't need any modification to fit the Aero bumper, so the bolt pattern must be the same between the two.

Just going to post as a warning: When i bought my bumper from the dealership it took about 3 months to get, and they shipped me 4 bumpers, 3 of which was incorrect. I dont remember what the number was, but BMW use to sell a kit that included everything. If i ordered the kit it came with a bumper for like a 118i or 120i, something we dont get in NA. What we ended up having top do is order the kit, take the hardware from it, send the kit back and order just the aero bumper based off its specific part number.

Anyone still want to buy the Aero performance bumper? I have one in pristine condition (no scratch) that I might replace with the M sport one. It's in alpine white.
