Le Mans vs. Montego (well, kinda sorta but not really)
Lots of people have mentioned that Le Mans and Montego are very similar, but while there are certain commonalities they are still different enough to appeal to one or the other depending upon the eyes of the beholder.
Before I ordered the 135 in Le Mans blue (LMB) I took the R32 in Deep blue pearl (DBP) to the local dealer and noticed when parked side by side with a 135 in Montego the two colors were extremely close, and had virtually the same qualities depending upon the amount of ambient light. In bright sunshine Le Mans has a snap that is akin to a blue sapphire stone sparkling and glistening, whereas DBP/Montego showoff their lighter blue characteristics almost resembling the Estoril blue of E36 vintage. In overcast, darker conditions Le Mans shows its darker blue/black pigment, while DBP/Montego becomes darker and can be more easily mistaken for Le Mans. Which of the two do I like better? Well, it all depends. In bright sunlight I really dig LMB, while when it's overcast out I tend to fancy DBP/Montego a bit more. I'm not really sure (on many levels) if this comparison helped anybody that is on the fence between these two blues, but imo the distinction between VW's DBP and BMW's Montego blue is very miniscule and thus hopefully help a bit to show the differences between LMB and Montego. And if not? Well, at least it gave me an opportunity to show off these two blues mobiles.

Thanks.
Hoping for a relatively mild winter so I can get more use out of the einser, but also with a nice dose or two of big snowfall to play in the VW.
