understeer, understeer, understeer....
So I took my N55 135i to the hockenheim ring and drove it hardish, but couldnt help to notice some pretty bad understeer, with dtc dsc whatever off. What are people doing about this that seems to help most? car is stock with rft. suspension tireslsd?

Camber plates and wider tires up front will do the most

some driving adjustments would be the first step. some trail braking and/or trailing throttle on entry certainly helps rotate the car, and good throttle steering helps around apex. exiting with a little yaw isn't usually too difficult if you've entered appropriately. most understeer happens when you've entered a turn too ambitiously. if you're confident you're already doing these things correctly, then pixelblue is correct... wider front tires and more front camber.

BTW BIG / Better Brakes also helps you get whoa'd down from a fast straightaway, hence slowing your entry speed, allowing you to power out of the corner in a more civilized manner. and minimizing the speed scrubbed off in the initial understeer situiation. my .02 ( it works for me )

The easiest thing you can do is the alignment pin mod. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218440 But that's probably not enough. The best solution would be camber plates and a second set of wheels and tires for track. |
