N54 Water Pump calling it a day
The darned N54 water pump packed up at 62K miles. Besides water pump and thermostat, is there any other parts that should be serviced while the mechanic is at it?
Also where is a good place to buy the parts from? |

BMW Dealer for new parts, should be able to get 10% discount with the 4yr + scheme.
Would also change the pipes too, as they begin to perish and at 62k miles its a no brainer. Full coolant flush with the correct bleeding process should be carried out afterwards too.

FCPEuro, everything they sell comes with a lifetime warranty, even fluids.
I would replace the plastic mickey mouse ear coolant fitting with an aluminum one too. The plastic one deteriorates with heat/age and can crack. The fitting is just under and to the left of the oil cooler thermostat. https://www.bimmerworld.com/Cooling/...4-CHC0609.html

I stress my pump running lower coolant targets on track. I plan to replace it next offseason at about 50k miles as preventative maintenance.
