Sunroof Wont Initialise
As mentioned in the title, I have had an issue with the sunroof in my 2011 123D. It blew a fuse and was stuck open. Sunroof has been closed manually by BMW technicians, and the fuse replaced, however have not yet been able to initialise the sunroof again. BMW is now quoting me anywhere between $800-$2300 to diagnose and fix the issue (seems insanely overpriced considering I can buy a complete sunroof for $400). They seem to think that there may be an issue with my FRM, which also is a lot cheaper to replace then what BMW has quoted me. Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or could offer an out of the box solution. Thanks in advance!

I would look into bimmergeeks protool. It's about $200 IIRC for both licenses and the OBD port bluetooth receiver plug-in. There's options within the tool to command things to happen (like turning lights on and off, or windows up/down), I'm almost certain the sunroof would be one of them. If you poke around with it I would not be surprised if you can get it to work again.
You also get access to a ton of other features, well worth the money IMO. |

Thank you for your suggestions Cerealwars. I would look into it but ultimately I have decided to part ways with my 1 series in place of a golf r 7.5.
