1M - Heater Speed Surging

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had a similar issue and if so, what the culprit was?

I turned the heat on at full speed today for a 20 minute drive. 10 minutes into the drive I realized the heat wasn't blowing out as hard as it used to. Then it proceeded to surge from a full blast speed to a very slow speed for the remainder of the trip.

2hrs later, I hopped back in the car and the same issue right off the bat.

Info:
The controls were in manual mode. I tried switching them to auto, opened the windows and it still stayed on a slow speed (40 degrees F out this evening). I tried troubleshooting by switching the temperature, the re-circulation settings, the set fan speed settings, and the dual climate control. No change.

This may be related, may not be...I brought it to a dealer three weeks ago and was told I needed to do the recommended maintenance; Brake Fluid Flush and Coolant Flush. I had them flush the coolant and not the brake fluid. No issues before the visit and now this.

Does the blower motor wiring recall apply to your vehicle?

I would check the wiring going to the blower motor controller and see if it is burnt. Drop down the panel under the dash on the passenger side (two T20 screws) There are wires (two big, one small) going to the controller, then another connector going to the blower motor from there.

Check your final stage resistor (FSR)
These can go at any time
It controls your blower speed
It’s bolted onto your fan blower motor just Mightymouse tech gave instructions to
