Hi all...given the auto 135i and the 128i both use a 188mm med case and have bolted difs.. vs the welded 135i stick and dct...just curious if anyone knows if say one were to find a good used mid to late 90s 188mm with an lsd clutch pack case off a 3/5/7 series...remove the lsd and bolt it to the 135i auto or 128i ring gear. Would this work?

Just curious as one can typically find these mid 90s lsds for $300-$500...vs the $1200-1600 wavetrac/quafe units...could be a way to save $500+

Just curious if anyone has any info on this? Has tried it/or dead end?
