2008 135I - Driver Door Lock
So this morning when I start to drive, I heard the doors lock as normal.
However the driver side made this click, click, click sound and did not lock. So I hit the lock button on the dash and it made a click, click, click sound but did not lock. So I manually pushed the the lock down. I then hit the button again, same click, click, click but it would not unlock. I stopped the car and open the door handle and the door unlocked. I tried the key fob buttons, same results. If it will not lock or unlock and just clicks. Same with CA when I touch the outside door handle. Only works if I actually use the key from the outside or the handle from the inside. I can hear it clicking each time and it wiggles a little but never locks or unlocks. Thoughts?

Actuator perhaps, you said you manually pushed the lock - do you mean you pushed the actual mechanism in the door jamb?

Ok try flipping the mechanism in the door jamb itself and see if that changes anything

I had similar issue on my old Merc and it was worn out plastic part on the door lock actuator. Plastic part was work out and couldn't pull the lock mechanism fully. Not sure if that plastic part can be fixable, but I just replaced the lock actuator.

Door lock actuator, good luck. Dealership charged me between $500 - $700 CAD parts and labour. Which is standard to fix even the smallest of things these days.
