Michelin PSS Year Round
Looking at upgrading my tires and am wondering how many people run summer tires year round in Seattle...specifically Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
Do you have any issues? I work from home so no need to drive at all in the snow. I would rather not have to buy 2 sets of tires or run all seasons. |

Mine do okay in the rain, I slip and slide a little but I'm at about 360whp
Drove it once about 20 feet with snow on the ground and it was bad. I couldn't imagine ever actually driving in the snow on pss |

I have the PSS on the 1M and last year when it snowed about .5 inches the tires were utterly useless. As an experiment I tried to get out of my driveway with a head start on dry garage floor and up a small incline to get to the clear street, totally failed. I am with you though I don't need my car for work and I do run PSS year round and in the Seattle rain and cool temps the PSS are a non-issue.

IF you drive in the winter(under 7'C)... get some winter tires. Even if you don't see a lot of snow, you need a softer tire that works in colder temps. To do otherwise is just asking for a crash. An extra set of tires/wheels is cheaper than repairing bent sheet metal.

Summer tires are fine if you got another car for when it snows or temperature drops... |
