BMWs are well-engineered cars, but don't always count on them to be tops in a crash test.
Corvettes are great performing cars I had a 2002 Z06 and it was loads of fun and fast. but definitely issues on the quality end of things and durability.

To heavy and runflats... and the fact that pricing and US specs (ordering sheets) haven't been released yet.

Thank you. It seems many people arent aware of the difference. I find this confusion too common to comment about it.

I really don't know for sure it's merely a pessimistic speculation because BMW doesn't give us in the US any of the cool low cost options like cloth seats. so I'd be willing to bet they wont give us the option but I hope I'm wrong

Well, we may not get the option to delete the SR, but they will certainly hear that I want it deleted. Here is an email I sent BMW-NA today:

"I have recently sold my 1998 M3 sedan in preparation for taking delivery of the new 135i next Spring. I am concerned about the packaged options that have been the norm here in the US over the past decade, with little opportunity to pick and choose vehicle options, ala the Mini Cooper and European option lists.
In particular, I am adamant regarding the ability to choose NOT to have a sunroof on the 135i. If the 1-Series is, indeed, to recall the essence of the 2002 series buyers must be given the option to configure the cars as they see fit from an ala carte list.
I would like to hear from BMW-NA regarding this issue."

I encourage any forum member with an issue regarding the 1-Series to email BMW-NA with their concerns. There is a 'contact' link on their home page at bmwusa.com

i don't mind the runflats... as soon as the car delivers, i'll take them off and sell them. for what they'll bring, i'd be able to buy two sets of lightweight tires/rims.

Agree with most of the other stuff. One to add: BMW "lifetime" fill on fluids and no way to check oil manually. Also concerned about potential oil cooler issues like w/335.

1. Approx. $500 for USB/IPOD. They charging that much just because they know I will get it.
2. NO PRICING release yet. That's the only thing that keeps me coming back to this website. How many will still visit this site after the March release? I can't wait until LA Auto Show.

Lack of DCT ( Dual clutch ) transmission like the new M3 bugs me so much. The other common one is the lack of LSD.

I know that I will be still visiting this website and I think that most everyone else will too. Just like the e90 website, there needs to be someplace for all of the owners to congragate and tell stories and show off their rides.

I don't like waiting for more information. We get info leaked, then the Auto show but no new information. We have to wait 6 months to be able to see the car in person. This just sucks. What the hell are we supposed to be doing in the meantime? This site is like crack for me. I keep coming back to see if there is more information but I am disappointed every time that there is none. But I keep coming back. I guess I just need my support group....
