125i - 18in square or not?

good day addicts....

i need help, i plan to get a set of wheels but dont know what.
i want to keep it OEM.

so the styles i was thinking are:
Style 162 - E90 18s. think there might be rear issues.
Stlye 216 - if i can find
Stlye 264 - if i can find
Stlye 261 - can find, but M badges and my car has no M stuff.

these are all narrows and wides.

i was wondering since i have 17s 225s all round, is there an oem 18 in a square set up i could look at that would look good and work on my car?
thanks.

My car was delivered with Star Spoke 264.

Front 71/2JX18 ET:49
Rear 81/2JX18 ET:52

I have always had staggered setups on my BMW's and i really think you should go for staggered, not square.

hi thanks for the reply.
love that wheel on the 1er.
reason for thinking square was being able to rotate.
otherwise maybe it will help with the stance and look of the car if i go narrows & wides.

I like this calculator for comparing rims.

I have entered my stock wheel sizes as comparison.

Front

Rear

You will have to try to measure fender clearance and add those measurements to the calculation.

I would have chosen 215/40 and 245/35 to keep the wheel diameter to 629 mm, making one less parameter to be able to cause any issues with rubbing and a speedometer not showing the correct speed.

think the offset of these are wrong (34 or 37) whereas you want square 47 or staggered 49 and 52. Don't rush into this- do it once, do it right.

I'd say that'd all depend on your driving style/needs. Not all bmws are staggered from factory, I've noticed the trend in factory staggering in higher trims due to higher power and certain amount of understeer tuned in from factory. I took my non M Z4 and in prep for the s/c and loads of other mods and changed my stance from 225 factory square to 255 square. If memory serves M z4 is 225 / 255 staggered. Of course a lot of other suspension bits took place as well but I'd say square vs stagger is based on ones needs.

thanks gents...
currently on the car i have 225/45/17 in square.
so i could replace those but 18s would look nicer.
i dont do a lot of driving so narrows and wides aren't needed more than just for looks.
the car doesnt see a track.

still doing a bit of research, but i see the Style 397 is ET34 all round.
this set up would allow me the square 18 i want and i can look at running 225/40/18.
can this work? i am coming from a 225/45/17. the car at stock E82 height. non m sport.

im trying to figure out if that 397 can work. it's square.
the wheel is 8" and ET34.

reading from here says will rub:
https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=749149

this says the front at ET34 can work. is there a big difference from 7.5J to 8J?
